I'm just trying to say that the people who are upset are just as justified. XP is great - and its been getting better, if this price increase is a way to keep it going on the upward trajectory its going on then, yeah - thats what it takes. I'm not blaming Insydium for anything - like I said, im not really arguing for or against either side. Houdini Indie is the anomaly here, not xparticles.
I can see the obvious issue that the larger company is to a degree pricing out a smaller competitor, but I don't think you can blame the smaller guys for charging what they need to for the product they make. Houdini Indie is just a little sideline for SideFX to squeeze a little more cash out of people who normally wouldn't have paid them anything at all. Xparticles is Insydium's primary source of income, this is where they need to charge enough to stay afloat.
